How Time Flies

Has it really been over a week?
Better get caught up then!
We spent the weekend away in Orlando. Stayed at the Peabody...very nice....they are famous for their ducks and have a duck walk twice a day, they are so cute.

We did go to Universal for the day and no I did not ride any roller coasters, but I did ride E.T. Figured if little kids can ride it I'd be safe!
This is the roller coaster that's given me so many problems the past few months....stayed clear!!!

Tropical Storm Beryl kind of put the dampers on the weekend, so Sunday we spent the afternoon at Wonder Works...it's full of science stuff and some really great optical illusions.

The Bubble Room was everyone's favorite

All in all it was a great weekend

As far as food goes....I made some good choices and some not so good, but that's o.k.....I was very conscious of what I ate and didn't deprive myself.

The rest of this past week I've been right on track. Eating mindfully and tracking everything. Activity is picking up too. I'm doing physical therapy twice a week, still trying to master the hula hoop and now after my WW meetings on Friday, our little group is going to start walking too.

This past Friday at the meeting I kind of made an announcement.....you know, if you put it out there and say it out loud in front of people, ya kinda gotta do it!!! So I said I was going to start the C25K program starting Monday. Blog Wobble I want you to know that you played a big role in motivating me to do this. Well after the announcement it seems several people would like to join me and we've also decided to do the Gasparilla 5K in February. You can read about it here. Gasparilla is a big thing in these here parts aaaaaarghhh! So if any of you are fairly local and want to join us.....come on down...the more the merrier!!!!! The pirate invasion is pretty cool too!!!

That's all I got right now. Mondays the big day......starting Week 1/ Day1 of C25K.....will keep you updated.

Thanks for stopping by.

Plan, Plan, Plan

Still doing good! I'm surprising myself everyday. I've been a little stressed too. But I haven't turned to food.

Had my first physical therapy session yesterday. They were a little concerned about doing traction when I hadn't had an MRI done. But she gave me a few simple exercises for me to do at home until my next session on Tuesday. So when I got home called the doctor about an MRI. He then referred me to a Neurologist, who I saw this afternoon. They did several spinal X-rays and I have to have an MRI and a nerve test for my arm. Not thrilled about the MRI because it's closed. I did ask about the open ones, but I would have to wear this collar contraption for the antenna and it's still pretty much in your face and takes longer....so closed it is....the lesser of two evils...I'll just have to suck it up!!!
I really hope this all gets sorted soon, and all over a roller coaster ride!!!

So, I've still been tracking and eating healthily. Tomorrow is my WW meeting.....looking forward to seeing all my "Peeps" we always have such a fun time. Holiday weekend coming up.....a challenge? Why yes, but I have plans. It will only be a challenge if I let it. So I'm going to have lots of things on hand that are healthy, low PP values and are power foods. Planning is the key to success, that and a positive attitude. I will put aside my worries about my neck and back and just enjoy the fun things we have arranged and the company of my family.....everyone will be together....that doesn't happen too often these days!

Thanks for stopping by.

Tracking Tuesday

Another good day!
I did though decide that I'm not in the right frame of mind to do The Simply Filling Technique .....to much leeway, I need the structure of tracking right now, as evidenced by what happened this past weekend.
I think it's important to have a "treat day" once a week so you don't feel deprived. So Saturday I decided I would allow myself to have some ice cream....the real stuff! I love Ben And Jerry's and they now have FroJo....not much healthier than the ice cream, but a little better on calories.....it is Ben And Jerry's after all! and I had been craving a Musketeer bar, but when I got to the check out they only had the packs with 2 bars inside!!!! I bought the 2 pack...don't judge! Needless to say they were gone by the end of the evening along with half the FroJo....note to self....no more ice cream or candy bars....on the same day. My PP allowance for the day is 35 and when I totaled everything up I had consumed 61 PP !!!!!! Good job we have 46 weekly PP allowance for such emergencies and treats! But I wrote everything down and tracked all the Points......I've behaved myself since then. If you bite it, write it. If you snack it, track it. If you nibble it, scribble it. If it goes in your smacker, it goes in your tracker....you get the picture.....keeping it real!
Weighing in every third meeting, I'm going to stick with that decision. Takes so much pressure off the psyche!!

So today was another healthy day of eating. I made chicken and veggie stir fry for supper with some brown rice. Just had 1/2 cup brown rice and then mostly veggies with a few bits of chicken.
I always make sure I leave some Points for a snack in the evening. This evening I had PB2 mixed with water (sometimes I mix it with my oil), spread on 2 Crispbreads with sliced banana on top.....mmm mmm good!

Before I finish up I want to give a shout out to Paul over at Scrawlingsofafatman . He's written a book and it's available for download in the Kindle Store for $0.99. I downloaded my copy of Scrawling's Of A Fat Man and have only just started reading about his journey and experiences so far in his weight loss journey. What little I've read seems very entertaining and well written. Whatever I can learn to aid me in my weight loss journey is a big plus in my book! So good for you Paul I wish you every success!

Think that's it for now. Time for bed. I have my first Physical Therapy session tomorrow morning, so hopefully things will start getting back to normal in the shoulder department.

Thanks for stopping by.

Meatless Monday And Smiley Face Pictures Part 2

Meatless Monday was my theme for today.

Breakfast: 2 poached eggs on toast with a tomato and some pineapple.

Lunch : fruit and veggie smoothie made with almond milk, Greek yogurt and some rolled oats for substance.

Snack 1: noodle soup and an apple

Supper: red lentil and kale soup with avocado and cheese. Then some "banana ice-cream" for dessert, (a frozen banana and a splash of milk in a mini food processor till smooth.....yum)

Snack 2: cereal.

I got my oil requirement by adding it to my smoothie and soup. Even practiced my Hula Hoop for a while....still can't keep the thing up....but it's fun trying!!!
All in all a successful day.

As promised here's more pictures of the sites in my garden.

My Jasmine and Gardenias are blooming......smells heavenly especially in the evening

Thanks for stopping by.

Every Cloud Has. A Silver Lining And Smiley Face Pictures Part 1

Self sabotage has been at the top of my To Do List of late. I don't know why, but try as I might to remove it from the list, it just keeps finding its way back to the top! I've been neglecting my Blog. I've been neglecting all of you who so selflessly give me your support......have I told you lately how much I really appreciate you? Not enough I know, but I really do and please don't stop!!

I've been drawing a lot of strength from my WW group. We have a private Facebook page, the support is amazing, like a WW meeting everyday! Every Friday we hula hoop after the meeting.....we call them our Hilarity Hoops....they are the Danskin weighted hoops. There are only one or two of us who can actually keep them up and going. We have a lot of laughs, hence Hilarity Hoops. Good times =)

Still having problems from my neck, back and shoulder. They finally decided that I have a subluxation of my clavicle, (sort of a partial dislocation), and I'm still experiencing problems with the whiplash.....waking up with tingling hands and still some discomfort. So I'm going to be starting physical therapy on Wednesday, hopefully that will fix things.....fingers crossed.

I'm still working hard at getting myself back on track. This past Friday I weighed in at my meeting....remember I said that I had decided to only weigh every third meeting. I stayed more or less the same....up 0.2 pounds. The way I've been eating lately I thought that it would be up a lot more....small mercies! Life goes on, one day at a time.

I find peace and comfort from my garden, and as promised here are some pictures of the sites and colors in my garden. THis is Part 1, as I have quite a few pictures.

The blue Lobelia is my favorite color in my garden

Spot the bird in the next two photos

This ones for you Maren...one of my Hedgehog ornaments, so cute!

So thanks for stopping by. You are much appreciated.
